The ACE JK/JL Stand Alone Slant Back Tire Carrier Kit works with the ACE JK or JL Stand Alone Tire Carrier to convert your ACE tire carrier into a prerunner style look. It’s designed to work with the Bestop Trektop NX for both 2-Door and 4-Door JK Wrangler models. It is NOT compatible with stock or other aftermarket tire carriers or rear bumpers.
The Stand Alone Slant Back Tire Carrier Kit simply bolts up to your ACE Stand Alone Tire Carrier and allows you to run your spare tire in the aggressive prerunner position.

Do you think there were any material changes made to the tire carrier post 2012? Or, is it more like they realized the actual limit is higher and adjusted the documentation?It is possible a change was made for the ‘refresh’, but I’m even doubtful on that.

Good question, hopefully someone can chime in with some experience there.I’ve never touched pre-2012 hinges, our ’14, ’16 and ’18 all seemed the same.
