How To Read Tire Size
To show you how easy it is to read the tire size of your Nissan Altima, lets take the optional P215/55VR17 tires as an example. Lets break this down into each individual component:
- P: First up, the P tells us that the tires required for your Altima are passenger tires. Easy enough, right?
- 215: Next up, the first number tells us the width, in millimeters, of your tire from sidewall to sidewall.
- 55: Knowing the width, we can now determine the required height of your tire using this aspect ratio. This tells us that the height is 55 percent of its width.

- 17: Lastly, the 17 tells you the diameter of your tire in inches. Youll notice this number correlates with the size of your wheel.

Changing Nissan Altima Tire Sizes
